If you talk with retailers who sell wire fishing leaders, they will quickly tell you titanium leaders are expensive and prone to break or simply pull apart, so most don't even offer them anymore. The breakage issue with titanium leaders is now a thing of the past with the development of a totally unique and different way to make titanium leaders and it's called the Super Bond technique.
On one side, titanium leader material is a wonderful material to use for fishing. Great flexibility, no kinking or bending to change the action of your lures and one leader can last an entire season rather than just one fish. So what is the problem with Titanium?
The Super Bond Advantage
Simple, the normal crimping process will either fracture the strong but brittle titanium and the leaders will break, or the super smooth titanium will slip right through a weak crimp and pull apart.
Titanium leaders have traditionally used two methods for assembly. One is to use a special crimp press to be sure you do not press the titanium too hard to fracture the strands but just enough to so the leader will not pull apart. (Good luck with that one.) The other is to use multiple sleeves on the leader which helps prevent the leader from pulling apart, but increases the odds of fracturing the titanium strands when you need to put on four sleeves per leader. (Plus it looks bad too)
The world is about to learn about the PERFECT way to make a titanium leader to eliminate crimp damage or leaders pulling apart and best of all they are cheaper than other lesser quality titanium leaders. It is called the "Super Bond System" and is only available on Super Bonded Titanium Leaders Distributed by AWC Distributing of Minneapolis, MN.
Using a totally proprietary method of bonding the titanium wire and the finished crimps, a Super Bonded Titanium Leader will last an entire season and can be made using 7 strand titanium or single strand titanium with equally reliable results.
